SERVPRO Cleanup & Restoration Services
Move Outs

A move out involves moving a customer’s contents to
a remote location for more specialized cleaning.
During restoration, the insured may be housed in
temporary housing, and the move out will facilitate
a quicker restoration of the damaged structure.
There are many reasons for moving the contents out
of a structure.
§
To enable a quicker remodeling process.
§
To protect items from potential damage caused by
remodeling.
§
If the contents require extensive restoration.
§
The structure may be damaged to such an extent the
contents also could become damaged or security may
be a problem.

§
The structure may be saturated with so much water
the contents could become damaged as the interior
moisture content seeks a state of equilibrium.
The move out process can be broken down into six
distinct categories.
-
Video the job site
-
Perform an initial scope & job estimate
-
Pack, tag, inventory, and additional sorting of
clean and claim items
-
Move to a warehouse, clean and deodorize, and
repack
-
Claim list suggestions from the customer
-
Move items back to the customer
The SERVPRO will work with the customer
to coordinate the move back to accommodate the needs
of the customer. It is customary to ask the
customer about placing furniture back in its
original location. Whether or not the SERVPRO
unpacks the boxes on the move back
depends on the customer and the insurance adjuster
determining what services are covered in the
insurance policy.
